Manage Payments of Groups Easily with WePay
Manage Payments of Groups Easily with WePay
24 May, 2010 Vivek Sabharwal
WePay is an easy way to collect, manage and spend money for groups. Unlike other payment processing platforms, WePay allows groups to keep their money in FDIC insured accounts managed by Bancorp Bank.
Groups like clubs, organizations, teams, roommates etc. can use this service for a hassle-free collection and management of group money. Group owners can create free accounts, receive payments over credit card or bank transfer and can share account activity with group members.
WePay's interface enables groups to keep track of entire money going in and out of the account, sent reminders to those who haven't paid the money, spend money using WePay Prepaid Visa account, send money electronically to group members etc. For group members, WePay provides a facility to view account balance, transaction history, sent bills, and information regarding other group members.
WePay charges 3.5% transaction fee but there's also a different plan that charges 50 cents per transaction and limits users on the methods of payment they can accept.
How is it different from PayPal?
The difference between WePay and PayPal is mainly related with the user accounts. PayPal accounts are associated with either user's name or company name with no facility to separate payments associated with various groups managed by that user. On the other hand, WePay allows users to create unique accounts and keeps every group account separate from each other. Also WePay's service is not available for international (non-US) payments.
